Episode 5:
The Pledge

(Richie starts to wake up in the hospital with Janet next to him. He looks around and then speaks)

Richie-I'm sorry for scaring u again baby. This is the second time I have been in a hospital and I have not been back for more a month yet

(Janet smiles and slightly laughs)

Janet-shut up punk, u know I was worried bout ya ass

Richie-I know u wur baby. What happened?

Janet-u had an anxiety attack.

Richie-I'm going to be ok though

Janet-yea u just gotta slow down and not have so much stress in ya life

Richie-I know I am gonna try to slow down. But first I gotta figure out this thing with Vinne. He couldn’t have killed Jay and if he did I still can't let him get sent up

Janet-baby please let him handle his own problems

Richie-I can't! He is my closest cousin and I won't let him go out like that. Please go get the doctor and get me signed out of here!

Janet-(sigh) ok

(They sign out and after dropping Janet at the house he goes to the best lawyer in the city. After working out a payment agreement he goes to the police station that has Vinne in lock up. His lawyer talks to the policemen and gets Vinne put in an interrogation room so he can talk to the lawyer Richie got him and Richie.)

Richie-did u do it?

Vinne-it's not that clear cut Richie

Richie-aww shit Vinne why did u kill him

Vinne-he was talking to Holio behind Ur back. I think he was giving him information on us and our new business!

Richie-damn it Vinne! Why didn’t u come to me? He wasn't giving information; he was doing it for me, planting seeds in Holio's head to make him think he had things figured out.

Vinne-man why didn’t u tell me?

Richie-it just started. He only had one meeting with Holio and it was a new plan, I was gonna fill u in, damn it V

Christian-if I may interfere for a second, I am looking at what they have gathered on u Mr. Lynch and the evidence is substantial. The only way I see u getting out of this is either as u would say it "work on" the witness who puts u at the Wendy's for the crime and sees u pull the trigger or someone would have to confess and I don’t see that happening. Also another choice is to ask for a deal now and hope they don’t realize the good case they got and let u deal for a manslaughter 2 charge

Vinne-naw there really confident from the way they grilled me I could tell so they won't offer anything unless I got a lot of give them. Damn I can believe this shit

Richie-don’t worry I promise u that u wont go to jail for this. U got my word. Just hold on and I will try to work this out

(Richie and Vinne embrace with a hug and a pound before Vinne is taken back into custody and Richie leaves.)

(Richie makes his way out of the police station and to his car, he talks to the lawyer before leaving and making his way to church once again where he goes to the confessions booth)

Richie-forgive me father for I have sinned, it has been 2 days since my last confession

Priest-my son u have returned. How are things coming with the problem u spoke of in your last confession to me and the lord?

Richie-father things have gotten worse and I just don’t know if it will get better. My cousin is on trial and it's likely he gonna go to jail for doing what he thought was right.

Priest-if you cousin is as innocent as following u down the valley of darkness then why don’t u give him another chance. If he was taking up for u then do what's right and do for him.

Richie-I don’t know if I am strong enough to do it father

Priest-if your love for him and for GOD is strong then your strength will help you my son

Richie-I didn’t think I deserved to be forgiven before and I still don’t father but I feel I need to be to be able to do what I need

Priest-Oh my son upon asking you have received forgiveness. You have realized the error of your ways and you are ready to repent. Say 7 Hail Mary's my son and live by GODS word from now to forever

Richie-thank you father, thank you

(Richie leaves the church and makes his way home where Janet is. she is in the bed room. He comes and sits next to her and begins to talk)

Richie-I have something to tell u Janet

Janet-is it serious

(Richie begins to tell her about all the things he has done. From his time in LA to him killin the person who killed his mom, to why Jay was killed, about why the house got shot up the other night. About him running a drug cartel of sorts and hiding drugs in the house and money in the house, and killing Crash and a lot more)

(after taking this in for more then a half hour of Richie talking and telling her what he has been doing since getting back along with when he left and while he was gone. Janet finally stopped him and spoke)

Janet-why are u telling me this now Richie? (she begins to cry) why u gotta tell me this stuff? (she is pull blown crying now) why Richie? Your telling me you’re a murder and drug dealer and you wur doing it behind my back and what do u think my reaction is gonna be? What Richie?(she cant stop crying)

(Richie tries to hold her and she allows him to for a little bit before talking again)

Janet-naw naw naw (she is tryna suck it up) fuck off Rich, just fuckin leave me alone

Richie-I'm sorry! I cant explain my actions, all I can do is ask for u to forgive me for my actions in the past and don’t judge me in the future!

Janet-u knows what Richie, there is no future, there's just now, and as of now Richie, we are over. We have no future. I don’t want to know u. just stay the fuck away from me (she says crying)

(Janet puts on some more clothes and calls a cab. After Janet leaves, Richie begins to gather up all the money he has stashed around the house and all the drugs. He takes the drugs to his different dealers and sells it to them whole sale to get rid of it. He takes the money to the lawyer. He tells the lawyer to put it in an account and have it set to give to Janet in the event of something happening. Its about 3 million dollars cash. The lawyer puts it in a safe deposit box and writes up documents for the transaction which helps to clean the money and make it legal.)

(After leaving the law firm and then the bank he goes to the court house and admits to the murder of Jay Ames. This effectively gets Vinne released and allowed to go free.)

*******************A Month Goes By*********************

(Richie is in the district attorneys office and is talking to them about a deal)

Ashton Stone-why should we give u a deal when u confessed?

Richie-because I can give u the Crash gang

Ashton Stone-there not big enough, we can get them with a little time on our own

Richie-I will also give u Holio Alfrado!

Ashton Stone-how can u give us him

Richie-me and him worked together for years and I did some jobs for him, I know where his skeletons are buried, literally along with all his dirty laundry and where he cleans it.

Ashton Stone=ok I am open ear's. what do u want in exchange

Richie-I only get a 10 year sentence, with probation hearing after 5 and I don’t go to any instate prison because if I do this then I wont be safe in any prison in or around here

Ashton Stone-15 years with probation after 7 is the best I can do

(Richie looks at his lawyer and the lawyer speaks)

Christian-we have a deal, draw up the papers and send them over to my office.

Richie-one more thing!

Ashton Stone=what's that?

Richie-can u watch out of my cousin Vinne Lynch and X girlfriend Janet Harris because I know when I do this things might be hot on them also

Ashton Stone-I will see what I can do

Richie-(reluctantly says) ok
